Moon and lunar eclipse

Moon and lunar eclipse.

The Moon is the nearest planet to the Earth and is smaller than the Earth. Which is approximately 3 lakh 84 thousand 400 kilometers away from the Earth. But the Moon does not have an atmosphere like Earth. The gravitational force of the Moon is less than that of the Earth. Due to which the weight of humans and objects on the Moon becomes less as compared to the Earth. There is no Earth-like life on the Moon because there is no air, water, food and Earth-like atmosphere.

The moon does not have its own light. The moon always shines because of the light of the sun. Most of the moon is white, due to which when sunlight falls on the moon, the moon starts shining due to the sunlight. Due to the Moon being the nearest planet to the Earth, the brightness of the Moon which it receives from the Sun falls on the Earth at fixed times.

For this reason, when the Sun, Moon and Earth are in a line, a lunar eclipse occurs. Because the Earth’s shadow falls on the Moon. When the Earth, the Sun and the Moon are in a line, the Earth blocks the Sun’s light and hence the Sun’s light does not fall on the Moon. But at such a time, the Earth’s shadow falls on the Moon, this is called lunar eclipse.
